Febuary 19th 2016

Hello Everyone,
My speed on my quilts have slowed down. My physical limits have been interfering lately. Oh well but I am still making headway just slower. The pictures below are all part of the Minecraft Mondays blocks I am doing with Kelli at Seriously I think it needs stiches.  I am really enjoying this project, I have made three of each block for my grandsons. I know all the older grandchildren would love this quilt but only three of this one. I am hoping to have a quilt for each of the fourteen almost fifteen of them by christmas this year. I have to move faster if I am going to get them all done. Working on four right now.

My Ry Hawk calls this one girl. I think Kelli is doing great on her designs because my Hawk knows them instantly.

I am also working on this other quilt. I have decided to add some colored squares to make it fit a twin bed. I think a shade of green we will see.If anyone has an idea let me know in comments.

I am getting lots of crafts that where started and not finished (UFO'S) finished. Just did not want to not put something up here. I am doing all my quilts in the quilt as you go way. As soon as I get some quilted I will add them here for all to see.

See you all soon.

my first own idea

 Hello
I have been moving a little slower than last few weeks.  But I am so excited I finished the embroidered lap quilt for my granddaughter. I used the steam punk patterns from Urban Threads.. My original idea was not pink and purple. She wanted a quilt and pillow made from them, so my version will be made latter. I still have to make another dragon for her pillow. Yes the dragon pillow is a big deal. My embroidery machine broke so I had to wait for a new one. I hope this one keeps working. That slowed my progress too. Anyway here is a picture of the quilt for her.

I am hoping she will love it!

I am working on a wedding quilt design now. I am hoping it will work out well.

I am also working on an crochet along with my daughter. and one I am doing alone. I have started a few block of the month quilts also. Of course I told you about the Minecraft quilt. This week was the skeleton block, I have not got the right colors so cant show you mine until I get the two shades of gray I need.  The Christmas sew along block is a tree this time. I dont have it done neither I think I am getting behind some. Oh well I will get caught up soon.
Everyone have a great week. I will catch you soon. Enjoy your hobby and remember life is what you make it.  That is my new power saying.

I am Steve from Mincraft Mondays with Kelli.
Hi all
Last week was very productive. This is my steve and creeper block from Minecraft Mondays. Only trouble is I need at least 8 Minecraft quilts in the end. All my grandchildren love that game. One of my grandchildren was hoping week two was a creeper, I am sure he will want to see as each block is built. I want everyone interested in that quilt to check out the site of the nice person who is posting the designs for us all too use. Here is a link to her page for week 2
The Creeper will lead the wayhttp://www.thatlookslikeitneedsstitches.blogspot.com/2016/01/
I finished my second quilt, it is another one I did and quilted it by the block. I think it looks pretty good but the sashing is hard for me too do. I think I am getting better at it, but more practice needed. My grandson Ry claimed this as our blanket to snuggle with when he is at Grammy's house. I got this from Craftsy as a kit it means some of cutting already done. it made it easier for me my disability makes all the cutting hard. It is very helpful. They have beautiful quilts and the cost varies I did not break the bank for them.
Got this from Craftsy. I love that site.

Of course between then and now I have quilt three and four blocks completed. They both are ready to quilt. Here are samples of the blocks.

I also finished one of the dolls I love to make that I mentioned before. Her name is Watermelon Slice and the patterns are from Dumblin designs. I think They are fun to make and I think adorable. I am also trying to finish crocheting an owl afagan.
I had a very busy week. But I am surprised how much I got done, since I have to change my position so often. But truthfully most of these were close to being done.

I am glad to be still on task for this year. I promised myself at the New Year to finish all those started projects. Hurrah so far so good. Thanks for stopping in. Check out the Minecraft Monday with Kelli. Minecraft is big right now for kids.  I hope everyone has a great week
Thanks

Slow week

Hello.
I hope everyone had a good week. I have worked on craft stuff all week but feel like accomplishing nothing. I am working on a steampunk quilt for my granddaughter. I have got a bunch of the squares embroidered but that is a small part of it. I also have three rows to what I call my black quilt in the works. I have had visitors since last week Wednesday. My grandson came then left and I had a granddaughter spent the three day weekend. Then her back to mom again and grandson is back. LOL never know which way I am coming or going. But to me having them is a great thing but it does slow my progress on the crafts.

I am teaching the granddaughter to sew, she is ten and is very interested in sewing. so I taught her how to make a strip square, it is sewed and quilted at the same time. I think she enjoyed it she made three squares this visit. Here is the first one. She was very proud of it.

I did finish a pink crocheted dragon this week. I think it is very cute. Let me know what you think. Well off for the new week. I hope everyone accomplishes their tasks for the week.  Lets see whats new then.

Day One

I made this for my mom. It was my first quilt.

Hi I have finally figured out something I can blog about. I love to do crafts. They keep me busy because my disability has altered the things I can do. I usually am working on more than one project at a time. I do that so when bored with one thing or if I need help from someone else I am still doing something. I never work on one thing at a time.

Lately I have been quilting a lot. I have been wanting  to learn something new for a while. My disability makes going to collage or classes out side my home really difficult. It would be to much for me to try and do. Confidence is not my high point right now. I always wanted to learn to make beautiful quilts. But  I cant deal with weight of the large sections. Thanks to my mother who taught me to quilt as you go.  I am now making quilts and having a great time. She taught me how to quilt as you go. So instead of working on a huge piece I can quilt in small bites. I have been having a blast with it. so I am also working on a block quilt.  I am using Craftsy to learn how to quilt properly. I am using the free classes they have and have learned a lot already. Oh by the way I learned a valuable lesson last week. If you have a disability that makes your arms shake be very careful with a rotary cutter. It will even cut through your fingernail. So don't use the cutter while shaking it is a bad idea trust me. LOL I learned the hard way but I am stubborn. I finished this quilt on Monday past. It is called the window pane quilt. It was a lot of fun.

I got a embroidery sewing machine for Xmas this year. Oh boy is that fun. I got embroidery patterns from www.Urbanthreads.com.Oh boy I love that site. My favorite patterns I got from there. Steampunk carousal animals. The idea was to make myself a quilt with the steampunk carousal animals I was embroidering But my youngest grand daughter feel in love with them. She liked them so much she carried the seahorse square with her.  Her mom says she carries it around a lot. So just like every good Grammy I am making her my quilt. This is the first square for her quilt.

I also love to crochet and cross stitch. I love to make thses very cute crocheted dolls. I bought a ton of the heads years ago. I am glad I did they dont sell them any more. But I enjoy making theem. I finally designed one myself a few months ago. I will show you it next time.
